Populo Living is the London Borough of Newham’s wholly owned housing company. Populo means ‘with the people’ and derives from the Council’s motto. We are here to ensure that the Council delivers its ambitions for the residents of Newham in providing high quality private and affordable rented housing for the future.
We are an imaginative, collegiate company with a huge scope for the future, as you will see in our business plan. More than the homes, we are creating high quality whole neighbourhoods to help communities live healthy lives and protect against climate change. We are also promoting apprenticeships and want to do a lot more to work with our local community to give wider opportunities to our young people. We have a purpose in what we do - our legacy won’t just be the bricks and mortar we leave behind. London is a global city, and Newham is its most diverse, young borough, and we reach into the communities we serve.
We are on-site with hundreds of homes with 14 schemes underway and more to come. In addition, we supply development management services to the Council for the vast Carpenters Estate renovation, which we are co-producing with residents to unlock this desperately wanted redevelopment next to the Olympic Park. We also have several other unique projects underway at present to shake-up how development is delivered.
If you think that we sound like the kind of company that you can contribute to then we want to hear from you. Having the right skills and experience is a pre-requisite but above all else, the right attitude, resilience and integrity is needed.
We are a diverse and socially responsible company and an equal opportunity employer. We encourage anyone who is adaptable and intuitive to apply to join us so we can make the optimum collective contribution to our borough.
