The Tanneries, Stratford, in the London Borough of Newham, is a new offering in the private rented sector, run by a trustworthy, professional management services company, Hera Management Services Ltd. It will feature 36 high specification apartments available for private rent, just minutes from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Speaking after his visit to The Tanneries, Sir Robin Wales, Mayor of Newham said: “Newham is at the forefront of the housing crisis and this is felt acutely in the private rented sector. The delivery of these new homes by Red Door Ventures is our direct response in tackling this crisis and I am proud of the incredible progress made by the company since it launched last year.
“This development will offer, stable, reliable and high quality homes to rent in the borough and these will be let by a good landlord that tenants can trust. I look forward to the company developing even further building even more homes and generating a profit which can be reinvested in council services to benefit the whole community.”
Chris Wood, Managing Director of Red Door Ventures, the pioneering company behind The Tanneries commented, “We are delighted that the Mayor of Newham was able to officially launch our first scheme. With the chronic housing crisis in London and a real demand for high quality private rent homes in the area, The Tanneries is the first step to addressing this problem. We plan to build thousands of new homes in Newham and beyond.”
The apartments at The Tanneries are built to a high finish and most feature floor to ceiling glazing with dual aspect views and large private balconies leading from the living area. There are also a separate bathroom and shower room, which is also ideal for those looking to share with friends.
To ensure the design quality, the apartments have been built using an off-site timber frame construction method. The homes will meet the Code for Sustainable Homes level 4, with high levels of energy efficiency and reduced running costs and will have Secure by Design certification. Tenants are also being offered packages to furnish their property in the same style as the show apartment at an additional fee.
