Carpenters Primary School consultation on replacement building and new flats

Share your opinion on the plans for the Carpenters Primary School (CPS) which is conducting a public consultation on designs of the new school building and additional flats. 

With the project overseen by Populo, architects Maccreanor Lavington and Erect Architecture have created designs for the replacement school building and landscaping, along with the new apartments which will border Warton Road. 

The plans for the fully-inclusive primary school will be capable of scaling up to be a three-form entry , which will be necessary on the completion of the wider Carpenters Estate regeneration. In the school ground a new 100+ Build To Rent apartment block will provide much needed new accommodation that will fund the school's replacement.

Throughout the construction, the existing school will continue to operate, with slightly less outdoor play, meaning minimum disruption for staff, parents and children.

Headteacher Diane Barrick commented, "We are absolutely thrilled to be part of this exciting new chapter for our school. The rebuild offers a fantastic opportunity to create a modern, inspiring environment for our pupils, staff, and wider community.
