Jupp Road bridge consultation: have your say

Posted 30 May 2025

Works to the Jupp Road bridge are being planned as part of the Meanwhile Projects around the Carpenters Estate, with an opportunity for local people to share their opinions on the proposed work.

Populo Living commissioned Jan Kattein Architects to design a treatment to improve the interior of the bridge, working with what is currently there.

Jupp Road bridge is a key pedestrian thoroughfare that allows people to cross the train tracks without having to walk all the way around via Stratford High Street. As such it's a vital link connecting the Carpenters Estate and neighbouring buildings to Stratford town centre.

Works are limited by the sensitive nature of the bridge spanning numerous tracks, but agreement is clear that much can be done to improve the experience for users. The designs created are a Meanwhile Project that will be put in place next year, prior to the bridge being replaced entirely in 2030.

Jan Kattein Architect's plans set out a solution that will bring colour and better lighting to the bridge, making it more appealing and safer for users.
