We’re looking for businesses that can help us meet our housebuilding targets
Populo Living is Newham’s housing company. We exist to tackle the shortage of homes in our Borough. That means we’ve got a lot of homes to build: we aim to have at least 1,000 new homes underway by March 2022 and our development plans already stretch well into the next decade.
To meet these targets, we’re looking to work with key partners that share our values and priorities.

As part of our procurement process, we ask you to provide evidence not only of your capabilities, but also of your commitment to our values and priorities.
Opportunities for local businesses
If you’re a small or medium-sized construction business in Newham or the surrounding areas, we want you to be part of our work too. We know many smaller businesses already have strong links with primary contractors, but if you don’t, here’s how you can get involved:
- Take a look at our list of recently awarded contracts on In-Tend. They include the name of the successful primary contractor and their project lead.
- Contact the successful organisation, to enquire if there are relevant sub-contracts that you could be suitable for.
We actively encourage all our primary contractors to work with local businesses where possible for building works, maintenance and other services.
