Mayor launches 71 affordable homes for Newham families

- Completion represents 7% of the Mayor’s successful manifesto commitment to start building 1000 council-owned homes by May 2022
- The Didsbury will provide 148 high-quality, energy-efficient homes across two tenure-blind blocks.

Newham Council to deliver hundreds of new homes for residents above existing blocks
Newham Cabinet approves new modular homes programme to scope potential for building new homes on top of existing council blocks, by wholly owned housing company, Populo Living. Initial phase could see more than 200 new genuinely affordable homes at social rent, delivered across Newham starting from 2021/22.
