High-rise development
Under the Building Safety Act 2022, buildings over 18 metres or 5+ floors or more constitute a high-rise residential building. Populo has delivered several buildings in this range, some before the recent more stringent regulatory environment came in, and some that are in planning or on site that sit within this framework. London Road in Plaistow is our tallest building to date, with 23 storeys, and the facing Valetta Grove building has 23 storeys.
Other high-rise residential delivered include The Brickyard, The Didsbury and Noele Gordon House, while both the Ferndale Gardens and Pier Road sites currently have high-rise under constrution. The Carpenters Estate Regeneration includes both high-rise retrofit tower block projects and new build residential towers as part of the masterplan.
Delivering high-rise in a busy urban area requires a suite of skills from the Delivery Management and planning team that include detailed understanding of the new legislation and it's impact, from costs to layout.
