Building up offers the ability to deliver extra space for residents to alleviate overcrowding, or create additional new homes on larger properties, such as the additional stories we added to Town Hall Annexe.
Populo is piloting a loft extension, Great Green Lofts, on a terraced house in Newham, delivering an additional two full-height bedrooms and shower room, as well as further retrofit benefits. The potential to scale these up on council owned Victorian and Edwardian terraces is huge, as this is such a dominant stock type, both in Newham and Nationally.
